Ghost Notes: The Missing Songbirds of Trinidad & Tobago

NN - Webinar Banner.png

What happened to the songbirds of Trinidad and Tobago? Why have formerly abundant species disappeared, leaving a growing silence in our fields and forests? Join us to find out!

The Nurture Nature Campaign presents a webinar with Faraaz Abdool on the missing songbirds of T&T. Seedeating finches that have beautiful songs are heavily trafficked within South America and the Caribbean as well as to diaspora communities abroad. This trade threatens songbird populations throughout their native ranges and has even driven species to local extinction in Trinidad and Tobago. In this webinar, Mr. Abdool outlines the problem, provides evidence and discusses how we can preserve, if not restore, our remaining wild songbirds.

Mr. Abdool is a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Bird Status and Distribution Committee (TTBSDC), an acclaimed wildlife photographer and author of the book Casual Birding in Trinidad and Tobago.
