World Wildlife Day 2023

“Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation”

This World Wildlife Day, we celebrate the theme of "Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation", which honours the people who are making a difference by working together for change. At the Nurture Nature Campaign, we are proud to be supported by a coalition of 13 local and regional NGOs, who are passionate about animal welfare, biodiversity conservation, and ending the harmful pet wildlife trade.

To celebrate we’ll be part of an event hosted by The Cropper Foundation on Sunday, 5th March with a panel discussion of participants spanning civil society organisations and the state to explore the current state of and barriers to wildlife conservation, while highlighting stories of successful stakeholder partnerships that enhance/d the impact of conservation efforts in this country and the wider region.

On Monday, 6th March we’ve partnered with The Center for Biosecurity Studies at UWI Cave Hill for a webinar on Caribbean Biodiversity, Wildlife, and The Pet & Aquaria Trade. The webinar will feature opening remarks by Dr. Kirk Douglas, director of CBS, and Dr. Mark Gibson director of the Nurture Nature Campaign will deliver a presentation exploring the wildlife trade in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean. This webinar aims to stimulate collaboration between researchers, government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector to address wildlife trade and wildlife crime in the Caribbean.
